This was taken whilst I was getting some shots of earrings made by a friend of mine. I was trying to use the sunlight coming through a set of blinds and thought this was quite a good shot. The lighting is a little harsh on the face (especially around the nose) and I probably should have used a reflector to balance it, but I’m pretty inexperienced at this and would love to hear your thoughts.
Also, a comment made by someone at the weekend questioned why I’d not included the top of my son’s head in this shot so I started to investigate the compositional/cropping rules of portrait photography, but I didn’t actually find a great deal. I’d appreciate any thoughts and tips on this.
