Fortitude and Patience

This was taken at Winchester Cathedral. There are quite a few stained glass windows in the Cathedral, but this one caught my eye the most, even more than the grand window, because of the light coming through and the deep colours.

The text on the window reads:

Fortitude and Patience

We pray you to remember all those soldiers of the King’s Royal Rifles who laid down their lives for their Sovereign and country in South Africa, 1899-1902. In their memory this window is erected by their comrades, for the adornment of this Cathedral and to the glory of Almighty God.
