Landing Gear

It does seem a shame to replace my previous post with a shot of an insect, but we didn’t leave the villa yesterday so my opportunities were kind of restricted. The whole day was spent in the garden eating, drinking, chatting and taking photographs. All very relaxing.

I also never thought I would post an image of an insect, but this took a fair amount of patience and timing and I’m quite pleased with the result. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to photograph bees and it’s bloody hard.

Update: As so many of you have asked and as I did promise, here is the original un-processed shot. I’m not sure why the background came out like it did. I used the Canon EF 50mm 1.8. The grass was slightly wet, the sun was behind me and I was panning so that *might* explain it. Can anyone else shed some light on it? Excuse the pun.
