Ammannati Courtyard

We visited Florence on Saturday, or Firence as the Italians like to spell it. I was a bit disappointed as it was overcast all day so there were no opportunities for shots of the stunning churches and cathedrals against blue skys. Not happy.

But out of the all shots I did take, this was one that grabbed me as soon as it came off the camera. It was taken in the Ammannati Courtyard of the Pitti Palace.

I darkened it a little using a curves layer then dodged the cherub and some of the water back in. I’ve also noticed that using negative space seems to be something I do quite often, I think I need to try more complex compositions.
