Shooting Into The Sun

Yesterday I managed to get a few good shots of Eros with lovely blue skies and fluffy white clouds and I was just going to post one of those. But once I started to process this in Photoshop I took a completely different route and I ended up with what you see here.

I considered softening it with a Duotone or Gaussian blur layer, but liked the harshness. Even if it’s not the most appropriate subject for this style. I’d be interested to know what you think.

And at last I think spring is finally here. We’ve had three whole days of blue skies in London, albeit a little chilly.

Update: As a few of you have expressed an interest in the processing of this shot I thought I’d show you the PSD. It’s only a mini version, but you’ll be able to see what I’ve done with each adjustment layer to get the effect I was after. I’m sure there’s other ways to do this, so I’d be interested to hear from the Photoshop experts. Oh, and I wont be making a habit of posting the PSD by the way.
